Seriously what material are these helmets made out of. They are supposed to protect against high speed collisions yet some guy can just rip it in half.

@Mike – LOL, the title may have been a bit misleading now that you mention it. But I think given the engineering lesson on the makeup of a hockey helmet you just gave, YOU are the one that doesn’t play hockey. LOL.

You guys play hockey at all? I doubt it. If you did, you’d know that the helmets these days are comprised of two or more segments that are actually relatively easy to separate – they’re designed to resist compressive forces, not the opposite.

He didn’t “rip it in half”… he pulled it apart where it was designed to come apart. Incredible Hulk? Not.

If he isn’t wanted for his scoring or playmaking abilities, I think he should be considered for his enforcer abilities. Check out this Allison vs. Powe fight where he grabs a hold of Powe’s helmet and rips it in half….
