Mario Lemieux is one of the greatest hockey players of all-time. Some even speculate that if he didn’t face a litany of injuries and health issues throughout his career he may have ended up THE greatest ever. But does being good at a particular sport mean you will be a good coach of that sport?
Well Lemieux is testing that theory as we speak, but on a bit of a smaller scale. Mario Lemieux is taking on double-duty as a father and coach for his 13-yr old son Austin’s amateur hockey team. The ‘Junior Penguins’ they are called. How fitting. Think of the excitement for the other young boys who get to have their hockey idol as their head coach. It must be a dream come true, learning from the best:
