Chara’s Cheapshot on Max Pacioretty

Hockey players across the board will get a cheap shot in from time to time. That doesn’t mean that the player on the end of the cheap shot is going to the hospital. We’ve been talking all season about how the Boston Bruins Zdeno Chara is playing his best season. Unfortunately, that stellar year took a nasty turn.
Chara and the Canadians Max Pacioretty have been exchanging unpleasant moments for awhile now. But Chara almost put Max out of commission permanently Tuesday night with this uncalled for hit that sent Pacioretty into the boards head first. This is not your usual boarding penalty. Chara finished up his check on Pacioretty but drove the player straight into the unprotected part of the boards near the players bench.
Pacioretty went in head first and was knocked out immediately. Check out the video to see the uncalled for (and intentional?) hit by Charra.

Chara received a 5-minute major for interference and a game misconduct but it will be interesting to see what punishment the NHL hands down for what looks like the blatant injury of another player.
Here’s the Canadians feed (in French, sorry) showing the event as it happened and the aftermath. You don’t need to speak French to know what’s happening here:
On the American side, NESN (based in Boston) saw the hit a bit differently. Analyst Gord Kluzak saw it as an unfortunate accident and stated that even though the two players have a choppy history, that Chara doesn’t not have a long list of plays like this.
As much as I want to believe him, I watch that video in slo-mo and it looks like Chara knows that partition, called the “turnbuckle,” is there and he pushes Pacioretty into it. No final word on the status of Pacioretty, but he was taken to a hospital where a few reports state he can move his limps.

Gord who??? Another Bruin goon I presume or a has-been Bruin want to be!!
Pacioretty did not even have the puck, it was dumped into the zone, 15 seconds left in the period, Chara knows that spot like most players. Conclusion, he intentionally hurt Pacioretty with intent to injure, point blank. He should pay dearly for this real shitty cheap shot and should be suspended as long as Pacioretty does not return to the game!!! Sure Chara feels bad, after all he is somewhat human and he will plead his case. Maybe Campbell’s lob sided biased decision (being his son is part of the Bruin organization) will let him go and the cheap shots will continue, if it does, it will demonstrate how little values players’ health!!
