Johnny Canuck Is A Lumberjack And He’s OK

His name is Johnny Canuck and he’s the reason that Vancouver will win the Stanley Cup.

Some fans in the Great White North(West) made this short video featuring the obscure mascot of the Canucks. It actually started out a long time ago as Johnny Canuck being a Canadian cartoon hero used in political cartoons and he popped back up big time in the Second World War as a hero for Canada.

The Canucks use a Johnny Canuck-like lumberjack as one of their team logos a few years back.  Like I said, he’s a bit obscure but you’ll see him pop up on shirts, flags and stuff like that mostly.

Now Johnny Canuck is alive!  A fan video has shown us the true awesome power of Johnny Canuck as they chronicle the legendary lumberjack and his years of triumph and turmoil in the playoffs as well as the latest Canuck Stanley Cup run in 2010-2011.

The man, the myth, the legend….he exists. Here’s his video as proof.

Of course if the Canucks lose the Stanley Cup playoffs, they’ll have to go back to being known by their regular lumberjack song:
