Suck It Phaneuf All Star Game Highlight

This is why players should be mic’d up for big games. During the 2012 NHL All Star Game in Ottawa, Ontario, we were treated to a great shootout by Team Chara and Team Alfredsson. In the end, home favorite Daniel Alfredsson and his hand-picked team lost to Team Zdeno Chara, of the Boston Bruins, 12-9 at Scotiabank Place.
Marian Gaborik’s three goals and one assist topped Alfredsson’s two goals and one assist, which nixed Alfredsson’s chance at MVP as Gaborik took the trophy.
In the first period, Henrik Sedin of Team Alfredsson makes the score 3-2 in favor of Chara and after the score you can hear Sedin’s linemate for the game, Philly’s Scotty Hartnell, drop some trash talk on rival Maple Leafs defender Dion Phaneuf as he skates by the Chara bench. Check out the great line at about 27 seconds into this video.
LOL! Joey The Junior Reporter Puts The Moves On NHL Network’s Heidi Androl
This little dude might be old enough to know better but I don’t blame him for taking a shot!
Joey the Junior Reporter, described below, is a wee lad with a talent for hitting on the ladies. Check out this video from the 2012 NHL Fantasy Draft where Joey hits on the NHL Network’s Heidi Androl.

Yowza!
I really don’t blame him, I say the same things. Apparently, it’s just not as cute though coming from a grown man as security bounced me away from her real fast.
[via Sportress of Blogitude] The 2012 NHL Fantasy Draft was held on Thursday night in Ottawa and if there’s one video you need to see from the festivities, it’s this one. For those unfamiliar with the wee lad, he goes by Joey The Junior Reporter, he’s a spry six-years-old and he has been adorably plying his trade for the past few years covering the Chicago Blackhawks. And despite his youthful appearance, you should not underestimate him. The kid knows his hockey. And after watching the above video, I have also learned he’s got more game as it relates to macking on the ladies than most adult males.
Hilarious! The Fame Makers with the Los Angeles Kings

The L.A. Kings decided to get the most out of their All-Star break time. The team is just not quite famous enough and that’s a bad thing in Hollywood. Thankfully, the Fame Makers are there to help Mike Richards, Anze Kopitar, Matt Greene, & Drew Doughty become the biggest fishes in the pond.
The Fame Makers (Neil Campbell & Mike Hanford) meet up with the stars of the NHL’s Los Angeles Kings (Mike Richards, Anze Kopitar, Matt Greene, & Drew Doughty) to show them the tricks on how to be famous.
Canuck Kevin Bieksa Attacked by 5 fans at Canucks Super Skills [Video]

Oh, the humanity!
Not since the Vancouver Riots ripped through the city have I seen such a vicious attack by Canucks fans. Check out this video of the Canucks Kevin Bieksa being mauled on the bench by 5 different Canucks fans.
[via Bob's Blitz] The Vancouver Canucks held their annual Canucks Super Skills competition at Rogers Arena in Vancouver, B.C., on Sunday January 22, 2012. Defensemen Kevin Bieksa was attacked by (right to left) Makayla Kesler, Reese Bieksa, Anna Hamhuis, Oliver Salo and Peppi Salo. Video evidence follows.
Hartnell Natural Hat Trick Delays Period

Philly’s Scott Hartnell, despite needing a haircut, did his best to impress his dad this weekend. And pop must be proud as the shaggy haired Hartnell pulled out his 6th career hat trick against the Boston Bruins.
In the stands you can see Hartnell’s dad wearing the biggest smile in the world as he watches on as his son lights the lamp. Not a bad day to check out your kid at his work.
The natural hat trick occurred in the second period and the fans littered the ice in the proper tradition which made the officials postpone the remaining 46 seconds of the second period to clean up the hats.
[via Yahoo! Sports] Hartnell got Philadelphia within 3-2 on a power-play goal a few minutes into the period when he blasted a one-timer while down on one knee.
Hartnell then scored a nifty goal to tie it at 3. He caught a pass from Giroux, dropped the puck, turned around and lifted a shot over defenseman Adam McQuaid that fluttered above Thomas’ stick.
Hartnell put the Flyers up 4-3 in the final minute of the period. He lost his stick during the shift, skated over to the bench to grab another one, returned to the circle and ripped another shot past Thomas.
Fans littered the ice with hats to celebrate Hartnell’s sixth career three-goal game and first since Dec. 20, 2008. With only 46.5 seconds left in the second, players went back to their lockers and added the extra time to the final period.
John Tavares Sweet OT Goal
First off, and you’ll noticed this in the video as well, is that the alt jerseys for the New York Islanders are God awful. I mean nasty. This franchise can’t do anything right. It looks like a decaying smurf, circa 1995 and I don’t even know what that means it’s so nasty.
But just the opposite of the Fugly Isles jerseys is the perfect OT goal by John Tavares. Despite looking fashionably horrendous, Tavares doesn’t let it stop him from strutting his stuff.
John Tavares, the top pick of the 2009 NHL draft, knocks the puck from mid-air and propels the Isles to an OT win. It’s the Isles third straight win and fourth victory in five games.
Smack! Brayden Schenn Levels Steve Kampfer

Wow, what a hit!
Brayden Schenn of the Philadelphia Flyers makes a sweet hit on the Bruins Steve Kampfer in front of Boston’s goal midway through the first period.
And in case you’re wondering, yes it did start a fight. I mean, it wouldn’t be hockey if it didn’t!
Taylor Hall: Why would you pull the Goalie?!

Uh oh, looks like there’s a little drama brewing in Edmonton. Oilers star Taylor Hall, sporting a wicked black eye from the skate to the face incident, is none too happy that his coach pulled the goalie during the final minutes of the game against Calgary.
Down by three goals the Oilers pull their goalie and that of course sets up the scenario of another Flamers goal. Hall is trying to block the shot that led to another goal but comes up short. That’s why he’s a center, not a goalie I suppose.
After the goal you can see Hall say out loud ‘Why pull the goalie?”
Looks like soemone’s not happy with the coaches decision and that means the talking heads at CBC’s Hockey Night In Canada have something to talk about.
Edmonton Oilers forward Taylor Hall visibly upset at the tactics from Tom Renney late in the 3rd period while trailing by 3 against the Calgary Flames on Saturday Jan 21, 2012. CBC Commentators discuss the behaviour during Hockey Night in Canada’s CBC After Hours.
Sh*t LA Kings Fans Don’t Say

NO! Do not shoot the puck!
You’ve seen the Internet memes. You’ve seen Sh*t Nobody Says, Sh*t White Girls Say, Sh*t Asian Girls Say, Sh*t Straight Guys Say to Gay Guys. But have you heard from Los Angeles Kings fans? Exactly. You haven’t. So, please enjoy Sh*t LA Kings Fans Don’t Say.
Oilers Taylor Hall Takes Skate to the Face

Hey. Did you know that wearing helmets during warm ups in the NHL are not mandatory? I didn’t but I know now. And so does Edmonton Oilers young stud Taylor Hall.
During the pre-game of an Oilers game, Hall took Corey Potter’s skate blade in his face. Hall was not wearing a helmet or a visor as he was getting ready for the game and the two players fell and went into the corner boards.
Potters skate sliced up Hall who immediately went to the training room. Thankfully, Hall was not horribly injured. He received 30 stitches and will have a nasty scar but he did not lose his eye or something worse.
The NHL has been in various debates over the years to require visors during gameplay to reduce injuries. Helmets are required but visors are optional for the time being. After Hall’s incident we can only imagine a new rule coming down about warm ups requiring helmets.
