Gagner and the Sweet Breakaway

Edmonton Oilers Sam Gagner is one of the hottest players in the NHL right now after blowing up with 13 points in the last 4 games. His 4 goals, 4 assists game last week against Chicago were one of the best performances of the year and he topped that stellar output with a sweet breakaway goal Wednesday night against the Red Wings.
He’s slacking off a bit in production with only 2 points that night to beef up his total to 15 points in 5 games but he makes up for production with some great style. Check out the great breakaway here and in the replay you’ll notice him wide open and practically jumping up and down trying to get his teammates attention to get the puck.
Danny Cleary of the Red Wings takes a monster check into the door on the bench which opens up the play. Ryan Jones feeds him the puck as not a single Red Wing, except the goalie, is in the area.
