Ryan O’Reilly Snipes Game Winner With 1.2 Seconds Left in OT
This is the type of play usually reserved for the playoffs.
Ryan O’Reilly of the Colorado Avalanche steals the puck with just a few seconds in overtime.
He quickly rushes past the blue line and lines up a sweet slap shot that finds its way to the back of the net with only 1.2 seconds left to lift the Avs to a 4-3 win over the Carolina Hurricanes.
Reilly is the team leader in goals and assists for the Avs (15 goals, 25 assists) and this is the second time he’s netted an OT winner in his short career.
This is exactly the type of play that will help this young Avs team get into the playoffs as Colorado has rebounded from a slow start to stand second in the Northwest Division.
Keep an eye out on the Avs because if their young snipers can stay hot and their goal tending keeps strong this team could be a pleasant surprise in the playoffs.
