It’s always humorous when a player throws a tantrum after being given the boot. North Dakota Fighting Sioux player Danny Kristo not only gives us a chuckle for throwing a little baby tantrum after getting ejection but if you watch the reason why you’ll laugh some more.

That’s because Kristo delivers a dirty, if not the dirtiest, hit I’ve seen in awhile as he drives an opponent into the boards and gives a very deliberate elbow to the head in the process.

Hey ref, is that a penalty? Guess so in the NCAA. Who knew?

North Dakota Player Freaks Out After Getting Thrown Out For a Very Dirty Hit

The Vancouver Canucks scored 4 power-play goals to finish up some business. The Canucks just couldn’t get past the Boston Bruins in last season’s Stanley Cup Finals. With a little hard work, and some fighting, the Canucks finally proved they could beat the Bruins.

Both teams started out slow this season. In fact, it looked like the Stanley Cup hangover hit both teams as it took until just about a month ago for them to wake up and prove themselves to be as good as they were last year.

No riots in Vancouver tonight. Fans no doubt wanted this type of physical win in the Finals but it is nice for a bit of revenge. And it didn’t take long for the angry Canucks to drop the gloves and beat out some frustrations on the Bruins.

Less than four minutes into their first game between the teams since the Bruins won their first Stanley Cup in 39 years, at least five Canucks surrounded and jostled Boston’s Shawn Thornton near the Vancouver bench after he came to the aid of a teammate who had been hit.

And two minutes later, the Canucks scored the first of their four power-play goals on their way to a 4-3 win Saturday.

“I think it makes a statement to the rest of the league that we’re back and we’re looking forward to getting back to where we were,” Vancouver goalie Corey Schneider said.

The Canucks are second in the NHL with 55 points and the Bruins are third with 53.

YouTuber RamaPijama caught this epic tiny tot hockey fight with his 9-year-old brother’s team. His brother’s team, Kokshetau – Burabay (green) ends up fighting against the team from the capital city of Kazakhstan – Astana (white).

Turns out during the final handshakes, when everyone is supposed to be nice and cordial, some of the players started talking trash which then ends up in a post-game brawl.

Gregory Campbell vs Joe Vitale. The Battle on the Ice!

The Boston Bruins at Pittsburgh Penguins game on Dec 5, 2011 featured a fantastic brawl between Campbell and Vitale. They fought and fought and fought some more.

Around and around they go. They even take a breather somewhere in the middle and then keep going. Great fight. Both guys are winners here.

The Russian KHL League is kinda the Wild West of hockey as rules are set aside and mayhem rules. One team in particular, Chekhov Vityaz, likes to make headlines for its fights more than its play.

Chekhov Vityaz was in the news recently as their coach Andrei Nazarov went after some fans in the stands. Now their goalies are fighting and I love a goalie fight. It’s one of the best parts of the game!

Two goaltenders, Traktor’s Michael Garnett and Vityaz’s Matt Dalton, get into one of the many brawls in their recent game. In fact if they had not fought it would have been odd since it seemed this game was more about the fists than the puck.

Every coaches dream turned into a nightmare for fans as a coach, fed up with a fan that threw an object at him, grabbed a hockey stick and went after the fans in the stands.

In America, the nosebleed section is at the top of the stands. In Russia, it apparently is right behind the home team’s bench.

Andrei Nazarov is the coach of Chekhov Vityaz, a team in the Russian hockey league (KHL). This team is known for having a lot of fights and even the players smile while getting punched.  After a game that saw 156 penalty minutes handed out a fan tossed something at the Vityaz bench.

Andrei, who played in the NHL and complied a nice career 1,409 penalty minutes, took to his instincts and immediately grabbed a hockey stick and started to swing into the crowd. Andrei didn’t make it over the glass but security did escort the bad guys out of the game.

Maxim Lapierre, the guy you love to hate. Good news for anyone that’s not a Maxim Lapierre fan and that’s most everyone who is not a Canucks fan since that is the team he is on currently. The pesky Maxim got the stuffing knocked out of him last night in Detroit.

Justin Abdelkader from the Vancouver Canucks expresses his slight dismay at Maxim midway through the first period. I’m not sure if the fight took Maxim by surprise or if Abdelkader is just that badass of a dude because the fight is one sided.

Abdelkader pummels Maxim like a punching bag. I think something must be wrong with the audio, though. I can’t hear Maxim shouting ‘Not in the face! Not in the face!”

Whenever the Washington Capitals and Pittsburgh Penguins get together you can bet there will be some exciting fights. The two teams never hold back their emotions for each other and this week’s game was no exception.

The Pens Arron Asham and the Caps Jay Beagle went at it at mid-ice for an epic fight. It didn’t last long as Asham just KO’d Beagle and then Asham makes an unclassy finishing move.

The clash ends with Beagle bloodied all over the ice, yanking his own tooth out before heading to the showers. Just to rub it in, Asham taunted Beagle with CM Punk’s “Go To Sleep” motion after delivering the knockout punch. If you missed it, the video is a must-watch. [via BroBible]

Heck of a fight, though.

Usually when you think of hockey fights you think of two bruising goons swinging fists of steel back and forth until there is only a pool of bloody pulp left on the ice.

What you don’t think about is Richards Simmons and Michael Jackson in a slap fight.

I mean, after last week’s Ukraine fight anything is going to be a let down. But this one is just insulting to hockey fans.

Over in the Russian KHL league we are treated to an embarrassing fight, if you want to call it that. In old Soviet Russia these two would be shipped to Siberia to learn how to be men. The country has gone soft thanks to Gorby and instead just gives them some fighting penalties.

I think the refs just broke it up because they felt embarrassed for the girls.

The guys in white is Dmitry Ryabykin from Avangard Omsk. His opponent is Neftekhimik Nizhnekamsk newcomer Evgeni Lapenkov. Thanks to Slava Malamud of Sport-Express for the info.

The offseason is so brutal for us die-hard fans as we have to wait a few months until our fix of awesome hockey fights start rolling in. Thankfully over in the Ukraine they are providing a much needed service by still playing.

The goalie in red (#31) goes crazy. I don’t know his name so we’ll just call him Ron Hextall, Jr. After chopping down several players in front of his net it takes quite awhile to get Ron Hextall, Jr off the ice. Several attempts end up in Junior throwing equipment and yelling as he bangs his stick across the glass on his long exit to the locker room.

He would’ve made his fictitious pop proud.
